DIversité - Adaptation - DEveloppement des plantes

The main focus of our reseach group is to understand how biodiversity of tropical plants is shaped through evolutionary forces resulting from human and environmental impacts.

Our activity is essentially based on population genetics but also integrates a multidisciplinary approach including ecology, botany, molecular phylogenetics and anthropology. It is structured around three axes:

(i) Evolutionary history &  domestication;
(ii) Diversity & conservation;
(iii) Global changes, diversity & adaptation.

Our team is located in Montpellier, France, at the Institute for Research and Development (IRD). Some members are appointed abroad, in southern countries like Senegal, Cameroon, Niger, or Peru.
